Kids and Fall Colors
I dragged the kids outside to take a few photos of them and the fall colors, before all the leaves blow away. (5 images total)

Pictures from Unnar Steinn’s 30th birthday celebration. (He’s the oldest son of my mom’s sister.) And the second one of ‘my generation’ to cross the 30-year threshold. Click here for the whole photo album. Read more
Emma’s sleep training last week went so-so.
She remained frustratingly inconsistent in her post-midnight behavior, but seemed to mostly stop waking up in the 2 am to 3 am range, so we figured we’d made some progress, and I moved back upstairs.
This past night she pushed her boundaries again, and wanted food at 2:30 am. An hour and a half later, and quite a few unhappy noises as well, she finally gave up and fell back asleep. So here’s hoping she learnt her lesson.
And in retrospect, the biggest progress may have just been me catching up on some uninterrupted sleep time.
The screaming screwed up the usual morning routine, meaning we overslept for our usual gym class, and ended up attending the second one (there are two, back to back). (5 images total)
This was a sleepy-Emma day. She took two long naps (2 x 1.5 hours) instead of the usual combo of 3 x 40 minutes, or 1 x 40 minutes plus 1 x 1.5 hours which has been gaining popularity lately. Miraculously, I managed to nap with her for both her naps which was good becauseRead more
I got my hair cut today. As usual I told the hairdresser to basically do whatever she felt like, and apparently she felt like short hair! The day was a mish mash of haircut, lunch procuring, grocery run, and a visit to Marel with the newly formed Stuðverk, social group for female engineers. Meanwhile, Finnur heldRead more
Busy day number two has just passed. Events were:
Finnur took the night shift, and it was slightly less disastrous than the one before. I got the kids out on time for school, and then hung out with Emma for a bit (blogged!) before rushing off for the mommy gym.
After gym I had a short pit-stop at home to shower and get dressed (while Emma napped) and then I took off to use Finnur’s printer at his work. (3 images total)
Well, today was a packed day! (On our scale. I know people that are much busier, and pack more into the day. And I salute them. But this was busy for us. 🙂 )
Finnur took the (rather disastrous) night shift, so I took Emma with me and the kids to their school for the annual ‘what will we be doing this year’-day. It was only Anna’s class, Bjarki’s will be later. (6 images total)
My radar folders from when I was preparing for my radar lecture are still floating around, and Emma took an interest in one of them today. What can I say? Better start them young, right? 🙂Read more
We’ve had a windy couple of days, and the temps are dropping. Must mean it’s autumn! So I grabbed my camera to catch some autumn leaves before the wind blew them away! (4 images)
So, I know there are one or two people who use our RSS-feed to view this site in an RSS reader. I noticed yesterday that even though I posted three posts, one current and two (1, 2) backdated to the beginning of August, only the current one showed up on my RSS reader. Is anybody seeingRead more
