[Hrefna called earlier to say that the operation had been pushed back an hour or two, and possibly wouldn’t happen until tomorrow. More later.] Hrefna hringdi áðan til að segja að aðgerðinni hefði verið frestað um 1-2 tíma, og yrði mögulega frestað þangað til á morgun. Meira síðar. [Update: Hrefna called again and said thatRead more
[Calm day. Nothing new except that Bjarki’s hernia operation is scheduled for 3pm tomorrow, Thursday. Ended the day by celebrating Ana’s graduation at a Mexican restaurant.] Rólegur dagur. Ekkert að frétta nema að kviðslitsaðgerðin á víst að vera klukkan 15 á morgun, fimmtudag. Um kvöldið fórum við á mexíkanskan veitingastað til að halda upp áRead more
[Today was a good day. Possibly too good. Probably the calm before the hernia-operation-storm if anything. The main events were as follows: a) Bjarki was wide awake for lunch and set a new record. Ate 74 mL in an hour straight from the cow. b) The eye-doctor pronounced his eyes “improved”. Both eyes now haveRead more
[(Update 9/24: Just fixed a couple of spelling errors]Uppfærsla 24. sept: Lagaði stafsetningarvillur. [The events of today were as follows: Finnur disassembled Anna’s “little” bed in our bedroom and we replaced it with her old crib. [Bjarki passed his hearing test today, yay! 🙂 It still looks like they’ll send him home (on oxygen) in about 2 weeks, but first he has to learn to eat better. This week they found he’s developed an “inguinal hernia“, which needs to be fixed, so he’ll probably have surgery sometime next week and spendRead more
[Bjarki is now 12 week old, or 38 weeks, or -2 week old (depending on how you look at it). He measured just under 3.4 kg tonight and 49.5 cm. Anna was born about two weeks early and was then 3.2 kg and 49.5 cm so Bjarki seems to be doing well in that respect!Read more

[Bjarki moved to the smaller IICN room today, hopefully it’ll be a little more quiet than the big room. He did pretty darn good at the breast today, came pretty close to getting half of his feed two out of three times. The eye doctor came by late in the evening and declared him toRead more
[We got a lot done today: some housecleaning, bike repair, purchase of a carseat for Bjarki, wash three loads of laundry and two visits to Bjarki, to name a few. Yesterday we did a lot less – but managed to attend Fraser’s 40th birthday celebration (Hrefna knows Fraser through Stanford); a party he was clearlyRead more
[Bjarki finally moved downstairs into the intermediate nursery today. Yay! 🙂 Sadly, neither of us was there to witness the momentous occasion; Finnur was at work and I lay sick home in bed.
