[Crazy day. Finnur took Anna gift-shopping for yet another classroom birthday party this morning. Then she went to her swimming lesson and straight thereafter to a playdate with Lulu from daycare. Finnur then went to the store to get stuff for dinner and as soon as he came home, I started getting ready for Todd’sRead more
[Bjarki’s not been sleeping all that well at night so today I really felt the effects of having an infant in the house. Tired!! This afternoon I left Finnur and Bjarki at home and went dress-shopping for Todd’s and Torie’s wedding this Saturday. It’s in the area so I’m planning on “dropping in” for aRead more
[Saw a pulmonology doctor today. He wants to see Bjarki in a month, and if he’s gotten big and strong enough then, he might do a test to see if he’s ready to come off the oxygen.] Fórum í dag til lungnalæknis og hann hlustaði á Bjarka í bak og fyrir með sérstakri tvöfaldri hlustunarpípu.Read more
[The first day in a three week paternity leave stared for me today and was extremely lazy-like (apart from three loads of laundry that Anna and I did together this morning). Anna then had swimming lessons, Todd and Tori stopped by for a visit and Anna and I took a nap in the afternoon, andRead more
[Bjarki is 14 weeks old today, and this (or tomorrow?) should have been his birthday! Instead, he got a torturous morning… First up: After a whole lot of screaming, the eye doctor prononuced Bjarki ROP-free this morning, which is fantastic news! He’s not entirely out of the eye-woods yet, but if all goes well, he’llRead more
Read more
[Great relief! Bjarki is finally home from the hospital after 3 months and 3 days. We got the news early morning that he was in fact being graduated today so we showed up at 10am. They had warned us a week ago that he might be coming home today, but I was taking that withRead more
[Bjarki’s doing better, he’s definitely in a lot less pain and is now feeding normally. Unfortunately the intermediate nursery is full so he’s stuck in the NICU, which is almost full, and therefore very busy and noisy. Maybe he’ll move downstairs tomorrow. In the meantime they’ve ordered oxygen tanks for him to take home, andRead more
[The operation today went fine, but Bjarki was in quite a bit of pain into the evening. He’d calm down, and then scream in pain if he was moved at all and his heart rate would shoot up to 230, in spite of his pain medication. Not fun, but hopefully he’ll get better soon. IRead more
[The operation is over and was concidered a success. Bjarki is back in the NICU for tonight but will probably go down again to the Intermediate ICU tomorrow morning. He was taken off the ventilator that he was using during the operation and did extremely well after the operation – so well that they saidRead more
