Emma did her darnedest to finish us parents off last night. \u00a0If memory serves the timeline looked something like this:<\/p>\n

\n00:00 – Parents asleep.
\n01:30 – Emma wakes up crying and standing in her crib. \u00a0Mother too tired to do more than yank her onto the big bed and nurse. \u00a0Blacks out.
\n02:30 – Mother slowly comes to, realizes Emma is awake, and playing kick-the-parents. \u00a0Executive decision made to dump her back into her own bed, sans milk. \u00a0Epic screaming fest commences. \u00a0Continues on and off for about an hour. \u00a0Mother stubbornly refuses to nurse. \u00a0Daughter stubbornly refuses to sleep.
\n03:30 – Mother manages to coax daughter asleep for realz in baby’s bed via fast back-thumping to get her attention, followed by a back rub. \u00a0One time offer only, missy!
\n04:40 – Emma wakes up. \u00a0Mother sees the clock is neither 2-something nor 3-something, indicating that nursing is now (somewhat randomly) ok. \u00a0Nurses, dumps baby back into bed. \u00a0All is good until…
\n05:20 -Emma wakes up screaming again. \u00a0Mother’s patience finally runs out, starts feeling angry, and remarkably has the sense to tap out of the game. \u00a0Awesome husband makes executive decision to take Emma downstairs. \u00a0Mother passes out.
\n06:14 – Mother regains consciousness, and hears baby crying. \u00a0Sends text message to Awesome Husband that they can return to the Master Bedroom.
\n06:20 – Baby nurses on one side before mother realizes baby has a poopie diaper (Awesome Husband changed diapers earlier though!). \u00a0Husband passed out.
\n06:30 – Baby refuses to nurse more, mother throws in the towel for any more baby-sleep, turns on the light, moves crib to the big mirror, and naps briefly while baby plays happily for 30 minutes or until…
\n07:00 – Time to wake the big kids up and get them out the door to school before eight. \u00a0Mother takes this shift, feeling remarkably rested after getting one<\/em> sleep cycle where she woke up on her own schedule. \u00a0Only growls at each kid once or twice.
\n08:10 – Second poopie diaper.
\n08:20 – Morning nap commences. \u00a0Lasts an hour and a half. \u00a0Yippee!<\/p>\n
