[Written 13 September 2013. Seriously.]<\/p>\n

We decided to play tourists on this long-weekend Sunday, and go see Geysir<\/a> (well, Strokkur<\/a>) and Gullfoss<\/a> (The Golden Waterfall). \u00a0<\/p>\n

We last went to see them in 2009<\/a> so it was high time for a revisit (There are 30-ish images total below.)<\/p>\n

(Note<\/strong>: There are TWO photosphere images in this post (Geysir<\/a> and Gullfoss<\/a>), but you have to visit the actual post<\/a> to see them.)<\/p>\n

\"Strokkur<\/a>

Strokkur the geyser calming down after erupting. It goes up every few minutes.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

People standing in a large circle around Strokkur. It was pretty crowded there, and we had fun playing ‘Spot the Icelander’, i.e. the people dropping by from nearby summer houses.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Anna<\/a>

Anna had completely forgotten how terrified she was four years ago when we first took her there. Now she really enjoyed it! \u00a0That’s Strokkur’s pool in the background.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Going<\/a>

Going up again! \u00a0It doesn’t matter how many times I see it happen, it’s always very cool.<\/p><\/div>\n

We found Finnur further up on the hill where he was…<\/p><\/div>\n

The fanciest part of the whole thing was really the very very fancy ‘souvenir’ shop, which has been thoroughly remodeled since the last time we visited. It was downright swanky!<\/p><\/div>\n

Bjarki demanded to go into that cool looking structure in the back, and was very disappointed when it turned out to contain clothes for sale.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We then headed a little ways down the road to Gullfoss (The Golden Watefall). We parked in the upper parking lot, but next time we’ll park in the lower parking lot for sure. \u00a0The upper one requires too much walking!<\/p><\/div>\n

Walking… walking… \u00a0The river is towards the top left, and kind of looks like a walking path!<\/p><\/div>\n

At the first vista point. It was pretty darn windy, and Emma didn’t like it one bit, so we didn’t stay long.<\/p><\/div>\n

After being total tourists, we drove back but stopped by at the summer house of Gu\u00f0r\u00fan’s dad.<\/p><\/div>\n

Gu\u00f0r\u00fan’s dad with his harmonica. Bjarki got to try his hand at it, and so did Anna and Baldur.<\/p><\/div>\n

Soon it was time to head on back to Laugarvatn, after a fun day out.<\/p><\/div>\n
