As \u00de\u00f3rarinn’s (Finnur’s dad’s) 70th birthday was rapidly approaching, the siblings organized a yard day at their parents’ house, to make it prettier for the upcoming party.<\/p>\n

\"It<\/a>

It was a gorgeous day, warm and sunny, and the grandkids had a good time in the yard.<\/p><\/div> <\/p>\n

\"Men<\/a>

Men vs. roses.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Men<\/a>

Men vs. concrete-slabs. Over the past few decades the steps along the house-side have slowly moved out of alignment due to the earth compacting. Steinunn’s Einar apparently used to work on laying pathways etc so he was the man in charge of this project.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"They<\/a>

They started with the lower steps, then moved to the ‘landing’, before finishing fixing the upper steps. This took multiple days. \u00a0The garbage storage-hut on the right is new.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

Emma chillin’ on her playmat (which we take everywhere!). The weather got warmer as the day wore on.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The back yard is deceptively big.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Vignir<\/a>

Vignir used to work in the tree industry so he was the master tree-cutter.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Cutting<\/a>

Cutting down the big branches into more manageable pieces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"There<\/a>

There was a lot of weeding performed that day.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"More<\/a>

More branch cutting.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Emma<\/a>

Emma and Hrefna (me!). I also got a haircut<\/a> that day. \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0(And was completely useless at doing any work because Emma needed attention. \u00a0Sorry!)<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
