Yes, earlier this summer, a friend from the University of Iceland asked me to give a talk on radar at the annual NordVulk Summer School<\/a>,\u00a0and I said yes.\u00a0 For those of you that are curious, the pdf file is here:\u00a0Planetary Mapping From Earth<\/a>\u00a0(sorry but it’s missing all the animations so stuff is missing).<\/p>\n All in all the talk seemed to go over well (I even scored a couple of business cards from the USA bigwigs that were there, they’re always so darn polite!) but it did eat up a lot of my very limited brain resources, which is probably why I haven’t been blogging much leading up to it and why I spent so much of today sleeping. \u00a0But it’s over now, and I have ZERO deadlines looming over me, as far as I know (or can remember).<\/p>\n So yeah, back to back to school.<\/p>\n I took Emma to pick Bjarki up from aftercare and we walked home in the rain. \u00a0Poor Bjarki was getting a bit tired and hungry so he was not cooperating for pictures, so this is all I’ve got:<\/p>\n Bjarki with a SCHOOLBAG pushing Emma’s stroller. He took the ‘big’ bag that morning because he had to bring a lot of stuff to school, but he’ll be using the mini-bag that came with this one as his real schoolbag, because that one is really too big.<\/p><\/div>\n Oh, by the way. \u00a0Finnur took himself and Anna up to the health clinic on Friday to get strep throat tested (Finnur’s been feeling poorly too). \u00a0But the young nurse chickened out on doing it (Finnur has an awesome gag-reflex) and summoned a doctor. \u00a0The doctor then lectured Finnur on how 10% of people always have strep in their throat (but that it is not treated) and then claimed there was no need to test them <\/em>and sent them home \u00a0Now, of course, Anna still had a fever tonight (that’s day three of fever) and I’m going to be so pissed off if it turns out it was strep throat after all. \u00a0I think it may be time to buy our own strep throat test kits<\/a>, just to save us the trouble of not knowing and the indignities of begging for being tested. \u00a0Grumble.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Gosh, darn, I’m a month behind on posting photos! \u00a0And I’ve been ‘not blogging’ because I’m always about to catch up with myself. \u00a0But it keeps not happening.
