Emma left the capital area for the first time in her living life this weekend. \u00a0We decided to go for a one-night stay-over in the summerhouse Finnur co-owns with his four siblings, because we only get three weekends over the summer, and this was the first one.<\/p>\n

We invited Holla and \u00d3li to come along and I think (hope!) everybody had a fun time! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We arrived around 1 pm on the Saturday, after Bjarki had gone to his gym practice and Anna participated in yet another swim meet that morning. \u00a0The house was pretty chilly, so one of the first things we did was start a fire. \u00a0The kids were mesmerized…<\/p><\/div>\n

Me and Emma, in our fleece jackets, waiting for warmth to arrive. \u00a0I believe that’s a size 1 year Carter’s jacket…<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

I went out for a short walk to deposit some ice-cream into the freezer in the summerhouse “next door”, which belongs to Finnur’s parents. (There’s no freezer where we were.)<\/p><\/div>\n

This little chickling came with me (strapped to my front), but wasn’t very fond of the cold blistery wind that was blowing.<\/p><\/div>\n

Finnur making gravy, as per usual. He’s wearing his grandfather’s old fleece, which always brings back memories.<\/p><\/div>\n

This has been a pretty chilly spring, so there’s not a whole lot of green going on yet, but it’s coming…<\/p><\/div>\n

Yet another yummy dinner! We found a guestbook in the house, and an entry from 1997 (or was it 1995?) with the same guests, minus the kids. How time flies! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
