{"id":7954,"date":"2013-05-20T12:39:19","date_gmt":"2013-05-20T12:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/?p=7954"},"modified":"2013-05-30T21:49:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-30T21:49:00","slug":"tablet-treasure-hunt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/tablet-treasure-hunt\/","title":{"rendered":"Tablet Treasure Hunt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anna got herself into serious parental trouble this past Friday. \u00a0I happened to enter her room when she had just gone out to play with some friends that she&#8217;d had over, and randomly picked up a blanket lying on the floor. \u00a0Under the blanket I found our big tablet computer meaning that Anna had:<\/p>\n<p>a) played with the tablet computer\u00a0unauthorized\u00a0and outside of &#8216;computer time&#8217; (6 pm to dinner),<br \/>\nb) left the tablet computer on the floor, which is a big no-no because somebody could step on it, and<br \/>\nc) hidden it under the blanket, meaning the stepping-on danger was even higher! \u00a0(And I had in fact nearly stepped on it)<\/p>\n<p>Grrrr&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>When she came back inside, she immediately knew what I was talking about when I told her I&#8217;d found something in her room, and she was sentenced to<em> two days of no tablet computing<\/em>. \u00a0I was deemed a boring mom in return. \u00a0Oh well.<\/p>\n<p>Now, this happens to be a long weekend (Yay for yet another religious holiday! \u00a0It&#8217;s pretty much the only upshot of having a conjoined state and church imho&#8230; but why are there no holidays in the fall?!) so both big kids are home this Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, seeing how the tablet would be freed from my clutches this morning, Anna got the ingenious idea that I make a treasure hunt for them to hunt the tablet down. \u00a0And since I am a fun parent once per year (yup, this was it) I indulged her.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s this morning&#8217;s treasure hunt. \u00a0Note that this was my first ever treasure hunt, so I made some beginner&#8217;s mistakes. \u00a0Oh well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_7955\" style=\"width: 670px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_20130520_102332.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7955\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7955\" alt=\"Clue #1: &quot;Who can sail without wind?&quot; was left on the kitchen table. The kids made the jump to 'bread' right away, but it took a while to go from there to 'grilled bread'.
