{"id":7331,"date":"2013-01-23T22:32:21","date_gmt":"2013-01-23T22:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/?p=7331"},"modified":"2013-01-23T22:32:41","modified_gmt":"2013-01-23T22:32:41","slug":"physio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/physio\/","title":{"rendered":"Physio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This &#8216;waking up after five hours of sleep to answer nature&#8217;s call and being unable to fall asleep again until ten minutes before the alarm goes off&#8217;-thing is getting old really fast. \u00a0But it&#8217;s ringing all sorts of &#8216;hey, remember the sleep-deprivation?&#8217; bells. \u00a0Yay.<\/p>\n<p>So yes, this morning was yet another one of &#8216;those&#8217; mornings, except there was no room to lounge or sleep more because I had appointments galore starting from \u00a09 am. \u00a0(Getting Anna out the door is the 7 &#8211; 8 am task.)<\/p>\n<p>I began by dropping the boys off. \u00a0Then I wrangled a referral to physiotherapy from my GP (who didn&#8217;t get the memo on how we&#8217;re all pretending a 90-95 blood-pressure reading is a-ok), after which I met briefly with the midwife (no news is good news). \u00a0After a short home pit-stop it was on to physio, where I was poked, wrangled, and massaged.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, it felt like Ms. Bambino moved herself a little lower into my pelvis yesterday evening (35w3d, but who&#8217;s counting), which seemed to release a lot of tension on the outside of my dysfunctional\u00a0left hip, and it starting feeling better. \u00a0The middle part of the pelvis, however, is now more grouchy. \u00a0Sigh.<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward to today, and the main hip-flexor pain seems to be mostly gone, but the whole hip area is inflamed, unstable, and unhappy after a week and a half of badness, and I&#8217;m still limping. \u00a0So the physio found a bunch of sore spots that she massaged, and gave me some\u00a0exercises, and I&#8217;ll be seeing her again on Friday. \u00a0And she was extremely happy that I&#8217;d gone and found myself a crutch. \u00a0Score one for Finnur!<\/p>\n<p>I (of course) managed to undo most of her good work by clumsily entering and\/or exiting the car soon thereafter, but still decided to return a malfunctioning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elko.is\/elko\/product_detail\/?ew_10_p_id=19707&amp;showxml=true&amp;ec_item_12_searchparam1=categoryid=762&amp;serial=AJ3600&amp;ec_item_14_searchparam5=serial=AJ3600&amp;ew_13_p_id=19707&amp;ec_item_16_searchparam4=guid=1A0892D2-CDAC-467D-BC69-1EAF56897298&amp;product_category_id=762\">alarm clock<\/a> and pick up a new one. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because waking up and seeing the clock project 7:45 onto our ceiling instead of 3:45 due to a faulty number-projector is no fun. \u00a0Then I almost went next door to buy bananas, but decided that would be pushing my hip-luck. \u00a0So home I went to\u00a0nap with my toes in the air.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the day went as per usual when I have the car. \u00a0It does however bear mentioning that Anna finished <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harry_Potter_and_the_Goblet_of_Fire\">Harry Potter 4<\/a> tonight (in English) after staying up way late for the past couple of evenings. \u00a0She was absolutely dog-tired today as a result, which turned into crazy giggle-mania as it got closer to bedtime, but she was all done by 21:15 so I&#8217;m hoping she&#8217;ll be functional tomorrow&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This &#8216;waking up after five hours of sleep to answer nature&#8217;s call and being unable to fall asleep again until ten minutes before the alarm goes off&#8217;-thing is getting old really fast. \u00a0But it&#8217;s ringing all sorts of &#8216;hey, remember the sleep-deprivation?&#8217; bells. \u00a0Yay.
