We went and saw the Hobbit<\/a> (part 1!) this evening with some friends, so we are now unusually culturally up-to-date. \u00a0We decided to do the full fancy 3D with 48 frames per second<\/a>, and it did look remarkably good. \u00a0Almost too good. \u00a0Borderline theatrical in places, but not really too jarring.<\/p>\n

The movie itself was plenty entertaining, although it did sport the usual ‘straight-to-computer-game’ sequences which never fail to annoy me. \u00a0But many parts looked utterly gorgeous, and I’d like to move to Rivendell<\/a> (Imlradis<\/a>) please. \u00a0Or perhaps the Shire<\/a>. \u00a0I’m not too picky…<\/p>\n

Also, the amount and quality of pure ‘design’ that’s gone into that movie franchise<\/a> is nothing short of amazing. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Nothing much happened otherwise today. \u00a0I did struggle a bit with getting the paperwork going for my maternity leave, but I do hope that’ll sort itself out. \u00a0Oh, and this morning I had another 5 am mother nature’s call, except Bjarki woke up too, and neither of us managed to fall back asleep again, which was a bit of a \u00a0disaster. \u00a0Thankfully I managed to catch up on sleep later in the morning, when the house was quiet again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
