{"id":6807,"date":"2012-11-25T23:25:36","date_gmt":"2012-11-25T23:25:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/?p=6807"},"modified":"2012-11-25T23:44:19","modified_gmt":"2012-11-25T23:44:19","slug":"bjarkis-first-gymnastics-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/2012\/11\/bjarkis-first-gymnastics-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Bjarki&#8217;s First Gymnastics Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bjarki started practicing gymnastics once per week with <a href=\"http:\/\/gerpla.is\/\">Gerpla<\/a> late this fall, after hanging out on a wait-list for over a year. \u00a0I think he&#8217;s only attended four sessions so far, but that was apparently enough to attend Gerpla&#8217;s &#8220;Advent Meet&#8221; &#8211; his first meet ever. \u00a0His slot was between 10 am and 11:30 am this morning, so Finnur&#8217;s parents dropped the kids off by the sports center shortly before the hoopla was supposed to start. I&#8217;m guessing two stars means &#8216;satisfactory&#8217; and one star is &#8216;getting there but needs improvement&#8217;? She tried gymnastics last year (and the year before that, but with a different outfit), but decided she didn&#8217;t like it, so she quit. I thought he was just really really hungry (&#8220;Ooops, I think he&#8217;s just had a glass of milk to drink for the past six hours!!!&#8221;) but a few minutes later, he got very pale, and I just barely managed to fetch a bowl for him to vomit into. He spent the remainder of dinner sipping on Gatorade, which he then promptly vomited. He then went to bed, and I was hoping that would be the end of it, but no, this blog-entry has been put on hold three times while I&#8217;ve tended to more vomiting. So I guess this is a real stomach bug, and not just &#8216;Bjarki got really really hungry&#8217;&#8230; Oh fun!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, just to add insult to injury, my throat&#8217;s gone all raspy, I&#8217;ve got a dry cough going, and my pelvis didn&#8217;t enjoy all my active activeness today, or attend-quickly-to-vomiting-child this evening.  Also, I can&#8217;t find my glasses anywhere.  How long is it until Finnur arrives back again?!?!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bjarki started practicing gymnastics once per week with <a href=\"http:\/\/gerpla.is\/\">Gerpla<\/a> late this fall, after hanging out on a wait-list for over a year. \u00a0I think he&#8217;s only attended four sessions so far, but that was apparently enough to attend Gerpla&#8217;s &#8220;Advent Meet&#8221; &#8211; his first meet ever. \u00a0His slot was between 10 am and 11:30 am this morning, so Finnur&#8217;s parents dropped the kids off by the sports center shortly before the hoopla was supposed to start.
