[Written on Thanksgiving Day, 22 November 2012 – Happy Thanksgiving everybody!! :)]<\/p>\n

Nobody can live in the USA for an extended amount of time, and not grow to appreciate, and even love, Thanksgiving! \u00a0It’s like Christmas, but without the stress of presents! \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

For us it was always a great opportunity to hang out with friends, and we’re very fortunate in that we belong to a group of ex-CA-ans who like to get together for the occasion. \u00a0(This is basically the same group of people we sometimes went camping with in CA…)<\/p>\n

Previous ‘Thanksgivings in Iceland’ here: 2010 at L\u00e1ra’s<\/a> and 2011 at Soff\u00eda’s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year, L\u00e1ra and Halld\u00f3r kindly offered to host again (not everybody can accommodate such a large group easily – we can really only do it during summer time when we can have people outside), and everybody signed up to bring something for the communal feast.<\/p>\n

Soff\u00eda and the ever-growing Alma Hildur. \u00a0Soff\u00eda is holding the book L\u00e1ra and her friend published this fall, with lots of local activities for families with children<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n

These two are now classmates: Soff\u00eda’s Gunnar and Gu\u00f0r\u00fan’s Sif!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The youngest second generation party-goer by far! All the other kids were (at most a few weeks short of) five years and older.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The kids are now so old that we hardly saw them at all during the party. They played with the fancy toys, and various computers. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Soff\u00eda and \u00c1g\u00fast’s \u00c1g\u00fast Bjarki has also gotten bigger – and looks eerily similar to his oldest brother! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

Gu\u00f0r\u00fan’s Sif and Elsa’s Kristborg both attend the same school now.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The first grandchild of the group has arrived! Here is Soff\u00eda’s Kjartan with his spouse, child, and little brother, Gunnar.<\/p><\/div>\n

The dessert benefited enormously from the ‘American Days’ that one of the big supermarket chains featured the other day… The kids loooved the Cool Whip!<\/p><\/div>\n
