[Still in Iceland. I spent the rest of Monday at my mom’s. Then came Tuesday, where I managed (got up around 2pm) to go swimming in what used to be the crown jewel of the outdoor pools in Reykjavik. Now it’s sorely in need of a facelift, at least a thorough cleaning. Tellingly though, there wasn’t a single person in the huge fancy new indoor pool, everybody was outside in the old pool.<\/p>\n
Next I stopped by Finnur’s grandfather’s house where I chatted for a while before making a quick stop at mom’s again. The evening was spent at Halli and Adda’s who made some excellent chicken salad.<\/p>\n
Today’s Wednesday and this morning I went to the US Embassy and submitted my paperwork. Chatted with a guy for a couple of minutes (my “interview”) and he told me to call back after 2pm to see if my visa was ready. And lo-and-behold, I called after 2pm and it’s ready! Pretty good service I must say. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
Tonight I’m heading out of town with Halli, Adda, Holla and \u00d3li for a night in a summer house. The weather is kinda cooperating, a light drizzle, no wind and comfortable temperature.
