My brother P\u00e9tur and his fiance, Sign\u00fd, very kindly invited us to see Peter and the Wolf<\/a>, as performed by the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra<\/a> and a puppeteer<\/a> in Harpa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The hall was pretty full!<\/p><\/div>\n

There was a small mix-up with the seats (the show we’d been invited to got cancelled) so we ended up pretty much on top of the orchestra (technically the choral seats). Which was fine except that there was a terrible echo up there, and I had trouble understanding the words being said.<\/p><\/div>\n

Once the doors closed, I noticed a couple of empty seats slightly to our right, and moved the kids there, and then got a chair for myself. It was pretty amazing how much the audio improved, and now we could see the front of the puppet-stage. Being on top of the orchestra was pretty awesome really, because we could clearly see who was playing what and when. \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0This photo is from the first part, the ‘toy-symphony’ preceding Peter and the Wolf.<\/p><\/div>\n

I was too wrapped up in the show to record a video until the very end. \u00a0I tried to catch the kids on video, but failed spectacularly. \u00a0Oh well. \u00a0Here the puppeteer is handing the various puppets (characters) off to the players from the toy-symphony for the very end of the piece, where they all march away.<\/p>\n
