[As of today, I’m DONE with my Ph.D.! I submitted the thesis online yesterday afternoon, and this morning it got the final ok from my first reader and the format checkers at the registrar’s office. This means that I’ve fulfilled all the requirements Stanford has before it grants the Ph.D., and thus, I’m DONE! \ud83d\ude42 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

It’ll be fun to reclaim the brain-space that’s been clogged up with endless mullings over wording, coding, results, and how it all fits together. I look forward to becoming more emotionally available to my family again (I’ve been clogged up!), finally attacking that 1.5 year backlog of photos, and as well as the random stacks of stuff that have gathered in the office awaiting attention. I also look forward to breaking out of my self-imposed “only one TV show allowed” mental block (Heroes), and napping a lot after a year of high tension and bad sleep-habits.<\/p>\n

I have no immediate plans for what happens next. All I know is that I’m taking December off from all that, and I’ll start paying it some attention in January. I’ve applied for my post-graduate employment authorization, but that won’t take affect until 1st March (if it’s approved, which is should be) so I can’t legally make any money in the US until then.<\/p>\n

But so yes… I’M DONE!!! :)]<\/i><\/p>\n
