<\/a>We ambled out of the hotel shortly before lunchtime, and ended up at the restaurant\u00a0Opatija<\/a>\u00a0around the corner from our hotel, after discovering that it had\u00a0a pretty good TripAdvisor profile<\/a>. \u00a0We both opted for fish this time, and the food was not bad at all! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n I got so sleepy after eating lunch (I guess all available blood got diverted to the digestive system) that we headed back to the hotel and I took a nap! Almost two hours later, we headed out again on a stroll.<\/p><\/div>\n First stop: the ice-cream store. \ud83d\ude42 Mmmm… iiiice-creeeam!<\/p><\/div>\n Bavarian-ish building with street-bridge.<\/p><\/div>\n The first of many churches on our way. At some point it felt like the churches in the area were competing in some church-bell-music competition, trying to out-do one another!<\/p><\/div>\n Lots and lots of tourists, and a surprisingly large number of Americans!<\/p><\/div>\n Looking towards the town hall sitting on the Marienplatz.<\/p><\/div>\n Walking into the market called Viktualienmarkt<\/a>. This is looking towards one of the entrances.<\/p><\/div>\n There were a lot of people there, even though it was starting to rain.<\/p><\/div>\n Bavarian clothing. It looked like there was some festival going on.<\/p><\/div>\n More fancy clothing.<\/p><\/div>\n A big Maypole.<\/p><\/div>\n The market had different sections, here’s the fruit section, pretty deserted due to the rain.<\/p><\/div>\n The bottom of the fancy Maypole.<\/p><\/div>\n We drifted away from the market, and walked past a few stores selling Bavarian clothing. Sexy, sexy, Bavarian clothing!<\/p><\/div>\n Fitting for the whole family! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n Padded boob-section optional. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n Yet another very loud church!<\/p><\/div>\n We were surprised to find that there was a wedding going on inside the church! Furthermore, large portions of the ceremony were being conducted in English?!<\/p><\/div>\n The random onlookers in the back.<\/p><\/div>\n Labeling the candles is a good idea. Now I know what church this was! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n Me in front of the Town Hall – in a new shirt because I dropped food on the other one. Yes, I’m a clumsy klutz!<\/p><\/div>\n A little further along we stumbled upon a H&M<\/a> store, which one is required to enter if one is Icelandic. I had a great time finding clothes for the kids, while Finnur wilted away and was almost asleep on the floor when I was all done.<\/p><\/div>\n A few houses away was yet another church, this time the Munich Frauenkirche<\/a>. It was quite visually boring in comparison with the glittering gold the previous church had.<\/p><\/div>\n Can we go now? \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n We made a quick pit-stop at this cafe (tried another one first, but didn’t get any service for some odd reason). While we sat there, Finnur’s coworkers walked past and we chatted for a bit. \u00a0Note the church we just came from in the background.<\/p><\/div>\n This entire zone is only for women in dresses with one child.<\/p><\/div>\n Old-style gals looking at new-style stuff with Christ right next to them.<\/p><\/div>\n Rat-house-gallery? No, apparently ‘rat’ in German has to do with ‘council’.<\/p><\/div>\n Heading back to the hotel. \u00a0I thought the painted stripes on the house looked interesting. Little did I know I was taking a picture of the local Google office!<\/p><\/div>\n Whoa, that’s a lot of plant on the side of one house!<\/p><\/div>\n When we walked past it, I realized this was one of the ‘top’ restaurants in the area<\/a>, so Finnur walked in and made a dinner reservation.<\/p><\/div>\n Soon we were back at the hotel, where I had a, uh, second nap of the day. \ud83d\ude42 Pregnant, remember!!?!?!<\/p><\/div>\n Finnur with his dinner. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n My dinner. It was really quite nice. The soup was the most awesome though, and dessert was yummy!<\/p><\/div>\n On our way out after a lovely meal. We saw this cheese bowl being used in our room.
