Here is the face (skull, really) seen from the front. You can clearly see the eye-holes. 🙂

So yeah, we’re hoping this pregnancy goes a wee bit more smoothly than the last one. Nobody knows what really prompted that whole debacle (Reynir’s amniotic sac started leaking at 15 weeks, sterility was compromised, infection set off a preterm birth at 26 weeks), but we’re hoping it was a random ‘one-off’. But then again, I’m not counting any hatch-lings until safely home and alive.

That said, this pregnancy has so far gone mostly as expected. I spent pretty much all of July horizontal because a) building organs takes a lot of energy and blood, and keeping my head straight up becomes terribly difficult (much like when I had pneumonia!) and b) the stomach feels less queasy that way. I’m one of the fortunate ones that doesn’t actually throw up (yet), but instead walks around with an unsettled stomach pretty much all the time.

Fortunately the tired-fog is lifting, I can actually stay up for hours at a time now without collapsing, although a nap per day is still very welcomed. The stomach is also getting better, and eating doesn’t put me in quite the same ‘all blood is currently being used by the digestive system’-coma as before. I’m guessing I have a week or two before things settle down and I can resume being a member of society.

I’ve still managed to keep somewhat active. I’ve managed to swim 1 km at least one time per week, usually more than that, because it turns out swimming is performed in a horizontal position and is thus perfect! I’ve found that it takes me about 31 minutes to swim 1 km (mixture of swims), which has dragged out a bit during the most tired times (I remember almost falling asleep in the swimming pool at Akureyri). Also, for time comparisons sake: The winner of the Olympic 1.5 km ¨men’s freestyle swam it in less than 15 minutes!

Anyway, that’s all for now really. Now it’s just a whole lot of wait and see…

P.s. Anna’s doing pretty well with her arm. Got some painkillers earlier, and is now camped out on the sofa, <del>enjoying</del> overdosing on YouTube cartoon videos.

Ok, hands up all of you who saw right through my non-existent blogging in July (besides ‘all is very calm and quiet’), and took one look at that sofa picture of me (taken by Bjarki) and thought “She’s pregnant!”. Because if you did, you were right! I’m pregnant!! 🙂 As of today I’m at aRead more

[1

post-6211","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","post-container col-md-12
["GET
