[Day one in the life of Bjarki Freyr (Bee-yark-y) is almost complete and everything looks good. He has been doing well, responds well to treatment and looks stable. They reduced the ventilator strokes per minute from 60 to 44 and Bjarki responded by supplementing with his own breathing which was a good sign. We’ve gone over multiple times throughout the day to the NICU; we can come and go at will and we have gotten to touch him in the incubator and take pictures (will post later). We appreciate all messages of sympathy and congratulations you have sent and apologize for not being able to respond privately to everyone. Furthermore, please don’t send flowers; we don’t have much space for them.
