The nurses have yet again moved Hrefna to a new room, this time she is in a private room on the post-partum ward (as opposed to the ante-partum) and the phone is the same, except that now it ends in 41. \ud83d\ude42 Bjarki Freyr is doing well at the NICU and is stable as before. He is still using the UV lamps and sporting the sunglasses (for the jaundice treatment) but this is probably the last day for that. Tomorrow he’ll have pictures taken of his heart and they are going to consider removing the ventilator if the pictures look good. They have, though, reduced the rate of the ventilator even further, down do 22 beats per minute and the oxygen saturation is down to atmosphere percentage or 21% so things are still moving in the right direction.<\/p>\n
I took a peak before heading home last night (about 2:30am) and when I showed up the nurse was injecting breastmilk into his mouth with a tiny syringe. As far as I could tell he seemed to like it and I even thought I detected an occasional smile in between drops. As for Hrefna, she has been diagnosed with an infection in the blood, which requires antibiotics for the next 10-14 days. We are not sure what this means regarding being discharged but she needs two full days without fever to be allowed home.<\/i>]<\/p>\n
