[At lunchtime today, we all went to the hospital where I got to hold Bjarki Freyr “skin-to-skin”. Yesterday I’d gotten a tank top specially designed for just such a task, and it came in quite handy. It was fun to hold the tiny guy, but also a little stressful because it’s quite a big undertaking. He’s still hooked up to a ventilator, not to mention a thousand wires and hoses, but the nurses made it work and we hung out for about half an hour. The plan is to see if we can do it again tomorrow, but then Anna’ll be in daycare and Finnur at work so there’ll be a smaller audience.<\/p>\n
Anna S\u00f3lr\u00fan did pretty well at the hospital today, although she started abandoning her grandma in their walks about the hallways. But she found her way back each time. She wasn’t all that happy about the “no-touchy” rule, we’re trying to wait until he’s a little bigger, but she did her best to obey, although you could sense the tension in her little body.<\/p>\n
Today I also officially overfilled my milk-storage space at the hospital, so it was time to really start working on getting a freezer. We tried buying one online that we could pick up at a nearby store, but when push came to shove, it didn’t work out. I therefore looked at Craigslist, and found one in Palo Alto that would work. The owner emailed back soon there after and turned out to live on campus, very close to us! So we now have a freezer, and I can stop worrying about that stuff for a while.<\/p>\n
The latest I heard of Bjarki Freyr (I called the nurse an hour ago) was that he was having trouble getting comfortable, and that she was going to give him a sponge bath, change his linen and try to get him settled. Today they picked up a “murmur” in his heart, and if it persists until tomorrow, they might do another echo-cardiogram to see if the hole’s returned in his heart. The nurse told me though that it could just be something harmless. We’ll just have to wait and see…<\/i>]<\/p>\n

Vi\u00f0 reyndum a\u00f0 kaupa frysti \u00e1 netinu sem vi\u00f0 g\u00e6tum n\u00e1\u00f0 \u00ed samd\u00e6gurs \u00ed b\u00fa\u00f0 \u00ed n\u00e1grenninu, en \u00fea\u00f0 gekk ekki eftir \u00feegar \u00e1 reyndi. \u00c9g k\u00edkti \u00fev\u00ed \u00e1 Craigslist og fann \u00fear einn frysti sem kom til greina. Eigandinn haf\u00f0i flj\u00f3tlega samband og reyndist b\u00faa h\u00e9rna \u00e1 kampus!
