<\/a>Carpenter laying down some wood. It was a warm sunny day, but he kept at it all day long.<\/p><\/div>\n
<\/a>At the end of the workday, we hauled the hot tub shell over to where it was supposed to go. Eeek, it’s big!<\/p><\/div>\n
We then waved goodbye to the carpenters, and crossed our fingers they’d do good work the next week, without our supervision. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because we were about to set out for a week-long stay in the north of Iceland!<\/p>\n
Yes, Adda and Halli got issued a cheap week-long stay at a fancy-smancy summer-house through their union. \u00a0And since we have very compatible kids (and the adults get along great too!) we jumped at the chance to join them during their stay.<\/p>\n
The summer house was at Hr\u00edsar<\/a>, a five hour drive from our house<\/a>. \u00a0Since we set out really late, we arrived shortly before midnight, but that was ok because the weather was nice, and it was still plenty bright outside. \u00a0We got the kids settled into bed and then hung out a little before collapsing into bed ourselves.<\/p>\n A very ‘2007’ summer-house, meaning it’s pretty opulent. The house was big, and had all modern comforts (electricity, hot water, roomy shower, dishwasher, tv, comfy beds, hot tub, combined washer\/dryer), except for WiFi – but we had internet access through our phones, so all was not lost!<\/p><\/div>\n A few sheep ambling by down the road past the house. \u00a0This is taken at 00:36, i.e. half past midnight.<\/p><\/div>\n By 1 am the boys were in the hot-tub (stinky chlorinated electrically heated hot tub) while Adda contemplated going to bed or joining them. She did join them in the end while I collapsed into bed after having done the latter half (and majority) of our driving, knowing the kids would be waking up early the next day.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Friday morning the carpenter(s) showed up bright and early and set up their gear. \u00a0Most of the work was done by a younger guy, while his boss (an older gentleman) showed up now and again to check things out. \u00a0By the end of the day the lowest deck was almost fully completed.
