[Bjarki had his first eye exam today. He was diagnosed with “stage 1” retinopathy of prematurity (ROP<\/a>) which was not very surprising since he was born so very early. They’ll examine his eyes next week to see how the blood vessels in his eye keep growing. I think that if he keeps himself out of trouble and doesn’t get sick and require lots of oxygen, his eyes have an ok chance of not getting any worse.<\/p>\n

Other than that he’s pretty much up to full feeds by now, so they removed his PICC line today. Finnur went to the hospital again tonight, but had to wait a while before getting to hold Bjarki since the nurse was busy with another child. When Bjarki settled in on his chest, they apparently both fell asleep and slept for probably half an hour! Oh, if I’d only been there with a camera! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Not much happening on other fronts. I keep coughing and coughing, and Anna came home today with sticky hair after her friend at daycare used it as a wipe for her popsicle. Tomorrow morning she’s going to the dentist for the second time in her life, we’ll see how that goes!<\/i>]<\/p>\n
