One of our last stops on this nostalgia-tour of California was the kids’ old Google daycare, The Woods<\/a>. \u00a0There we met some of our old teachers, and there were lots of hugs, the occasional tearing-up, and much laughter. \u00a0Boy, how I miss those teachers and that campus!<\/p>\n

We got to go into Amy's current classroom, where they've set up a whole room dedicated to playing with light.<\/p><\/div>\n

Next up we whisked on over to the Great Mall so that Finnur could get his\u00a0Banana Republic<\/a>\u00a0outlet fix, while I got my\u00a0Children’s Place<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lane Bryant<\/a>\u00a0outlet fixes after loading the kids up on\u00a0Starbuck<\/a>‘s stuff. \u00a0We’re nothing if not good consumers!! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We returned Finnur to work, and then headed to\u00a0CostCo<\/a>\u00a0to pick up my contact lenses etc.<\/p>\n

In CostCo, checking out loungers for Augusto and Sarah.<\/p><\/div>\n

After CostCo, we headed straight to the\u00a0Children’s Discovery Museum<\/a>\u00a0in San Jose, where I remember taking Anna once before, but I can’t seem to find any pictures. \u00a0Anyway, the ‘museum’ was a big hit and the kids played and played until it closed at 5 pm. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

At the Children's Discovery Museum, where Bjarki promptly fell in love with this real restored fire-truck.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The kids could walk up some stairs to get to the top of the truck. Here Bjarki's snagged a really fantastic fire-mans outfit.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The fireman-outfit was so cool (heavy fabric, real metallic clasps) that I took a photo of the label. Consider this free advertising for a good product! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The cafeteria (which serves really great food, btw!) is right next to an ambulance.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

After lunch we headed to the water-play area. Here the water usually traps vapor unless you break the bubble, like Anna's done.<\/p><\/div>\n

Here there's a straight column of water continually going up into the air, and if you push a ball onto it, it lifts the ball!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Here you put the ball into a tube, and it would be pushed out and into the air using air pressure. If all went well, the ball then landed in the big vortex-tank, and got sucked down to the bottom and out.<\/p><\/div>\n

The 'museum' is sort of cross-shaped, and in the center is a light-controlled intersection.<\/p><\/div>\n

We managed to pick up Finnur and procure dinner in a timely manner, but I finished off the day by going to an Icelandic ‘sewing’ club, hosted by Lotta.<\/p>\n

The last item on the day's agenda was a sewing club hosted by Lotta! \ud83d\ude42 It was so fun reconnecting with all these great gals! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n
