[A warm three day labor day weekend is over. We’ve been experiencing a heatwave and Anna and I visited Darya today, Anna’s classmate, (after a visit to the hospital and a nap). Darya’s parents had invited us over to take a dip in the pool in their housing complex, which we gratefully accepted and thoroughly enjoyed. <\/p>\n

Anna keeps becoming more of a person (as opposed to a child); is clearly developing mentally these days and keeps becoming funnier and funnier. Tonight she instructed me to “come out of the computer and into the mealtime” in the commanding tone that her mother often uses. The setting was surprising, since we were in the middle of a shopping trip at the grocery store, but she was probably just practicing for the evening. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

This morning she sat down in our couch, sniffed the air and claimed: “pufff…. I can smell Einar” – pretending to smell Einar’s after shave, which is something we don’t notice. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

No real news from Bjarki – one of the nurse said there is nothing new, except he has gotten a little cuter since yesterday. \ud83d\ude42 Anna got to hold him both today and yesterday (first time) and was extatic about it – not noticing the look of terror on her parent’s face while it happened. \ud83d\ude42 It was a huge success, she was all smiles and informed me afterwards that I should be proud of her for “not shouting at all and not acting up or anything”. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Tonight I BBQed icelandic hot-dogs and served for dinner; hot dogs that Einar and Steinunn showed up with, much to our delight. \ud83d\ude42 And now it is time to get prepared for another week at work\/the hospital<\/i>]<\/p>\n

Anna S\u00f3lr\u00fan er annars alltaf a\u00f0 ver\u00f0a meira og meira a\u00f0 “manneskju” (en ekki bara barn), er greinilega a\u00f0 taka \u00fat andlegan \u00feroska \u00feessa dagana og alltaf a\u00f0 ver\u00f0a fyndnari og fyndnari. \u00cd kv\u00f6ld sag\u00f0i h\u00fan vi\u00f0 mig \u00ed skipanat\u00f3n a\u00f0 h\u00e6tti m\u00f3\u00f0ur sinnar: “Finnur Breki, komdu \u00fat \u00far t\u00f6lvunni og inn \u00ed matinn”. Engar fr\u00e9ttir fr\u00e1 Bjarka Frey svo sem anna\u00f0 en a\u00f0 hj\u00fakkan sag\u00f0i \u00ed morgun a\u00f0 hann v\u00e6ri or\u00f0inn a\u00f0eins s\u00e6tari \u00ed dag en hann var \u00ed g\u00e6r. \ud83d\ude42 Anna f\u00e9kk annars a\u00f0 halda \u00e1 honum \u00ed g\u00e6r \u00ed fyrsta skipti og aftur \u00ed dag og var himinlifandi s\u00e6l me\u00f0 \u00fea\u00f0 og t\u00f3k ekkert eftir skelfingarsvipnum \u00e1 foreldrunum me\u00f0an \u00e1 \u00fev\u00ed st\u00f3\u00f0. \ud83d\ude42 H\u00fan st\u00f3\u00f0 sig annars \u00fev\u00edl\u00edkt vel me\u00f0 hann og tilkynnti m\u00e9r eftir \u00e1 hva\u00f0 h\u00fan hef\u00f0i veri\u00f0 dugleg: “\u00e9g var ekkert a\u00f0 hr\u00f3pa e\u00f0a br\u00f6lta e\u00f0a neitt”. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\u00cd kv\u00f6ld grilla\u00f0i \u00e9g svo \u00edslenskar pylsur og bau\u00f0 upp \u00e1 \u00ed kv\u00f6ldmat. Pylsur sem Einar og Steinunn m\u00e6ttu me\u00f0, okkur til mikillar \u00e1n\u00e6gju. \ud83d\ude42 Og n\u00fa er bara a\u00f0 b\u00faa sig undir a\u00f0ra vinnuviku me\u00f0 tilheyrandi sp\u00edtalaheims\u00f3knum.<\/p>\n
