[Bjarki went to the eye-doctor yesterday, who proclaimed him ROP-free much like 2 weeks ago. The doc told us that Bjarki would probably need 1-2 more check-ups just to be on the safe side. The next eye exam is in 2 weeks. The eye-exam place<\/a> is a little crazy though. Thursday mornings are “infant mornings” which means it’s a bit of a NICU reunion, so the waiting room is full of infant carriers! The appointment time doesn’t really mean much, since you show up and the first thing they do is dilate the eyes. Then there’s a minimum of 30 minutes wait, and sometimes much more. One mom told me she’d been in there for a total of 3 hours! Anyway, by making appointments at 8am, we’re usually out by 9:30, which isn’t terrible.<\/p>\n

This morning we took Bjarki to the pediatrician, where he measured at 9 lbs 6 ounces, and 20.75 inches. This means he’s gaining adequate weight, not stupendous weight gain, but “enough”. The doc thought his breathing was improved, so it’ll be interesting what the lung-doctor thinks in a couple of weeks at his Nov. 12th appointment.<\/p>\n

We also told her that we’ve stopped giving him his vitamins and iron for now to see if his digestion improves and maybe starts sleeping better. She ok-ed that but asked that we restart the iron in a few days and watch what happens. Then Bjarki got three vaccination-shots, and we made an appointment to get the final two in a couple of weeks.<\/i>]<\/p>\n

A\u00f0 me\u00f0altali er hann \u00fev\u00ed a\u00f0 \u00feyngjast um ca. 20 gr \u00e1 dag sem \u00feykir \u00e1s\u00e6ttanlegt. Henni fannst Bjarki vera a\u00f0 anda betur, sem var gott. Eftir r\u00e9tt r\u00famar tv\u00e6r vikur (12. n\u00f3v) er svo n\u00e6sti t\u00edmi hj\u00e1 lungnal\u00e6kninum, og \u00fea\u00f0 ver\u00f0ur fr\u00f3\u00f0legt a\u00f0 sj\u00e1 hva\u00f0 kemur \u00fat \u00far \u00fev\u00ed.<\/p>\n
