The holiday season is when Icelanders living abroad tend to come and visit the motherland. \u00a0We know from experience that these visits ‘home’ are busy busy busy, but were pleasantly surprised to receive two visits from busy-bees from far away. \u00a0First up were our friends Siggi and Jennifer from California<\/a>, and the day after my step-sister Helga and her son \u00cdsarr dropped by.<\/p>\n

Jesigga, Anna og J\u00f3hanna.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The girls giggling because Jesigga is standing on a fus-ball to be closer to Anna in height. Jesigga is a few months older than Anna...<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Siggi and Jennifer, just before they had to depart for their next pit-stop. It was great seeing them!! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Luckily Siggi and Jennifer had access to a four wheeled jeep, or they would never have made it all the way to us. Yes, the night before saw the most epic snowfall in recent memory, and the city was literally swamped! Only half of the little hut in the backyard was visible!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Anna, Bjarki and two of Anna's friends smooth out a backyard-spot in the snow to put bird food on. As it happened the food quickly got snowed over, so we ended up putting food under our balcony instead.<\/p><\/div>\n

Anna and I hiked up and around a nearby hill that evening to watch a distant fireworks display (in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur).<\/p><\/div>\n

There was still plenty of snow in our street. It took a day or two before operators of the heavy machinery had time to visit our street.<\/p><\/div>\n

A new day, and new visitor for brunch! \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Helga and \u00cdsarr, almost three years old. Sadly little Anja was sick so we'll have to meet her and Trausti at some later date.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I'd made a huge lump of bread a few days before, but we never managed to eat all of it. I therefore donated a large chunk of it to the birds. It held up very nicely over a week or so, and was quite popular.<\/p><\/div>\n
