[Photos taken 09 – 15 March 2025, posted online 26 October 2025. First snow of the winter season fell overnight, not nearly enough to cover up the grass, but the nights have been cold enough that it’s sticking around.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s confirmation season was relatively quiet, with only one cousin ascending to the halls of “being counted as an adult” (the wording is probably from when kids were big enough to participate fully in farm-work?). I was happy to take photos of the confirmed-one-to-be, although yet again I swore to one day really update my gear, so I don’t have to fight the lighting quite so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That same weekend, Bjarki and two buddies scored the third place in a programming competition, and each got $80\/EUR70\/ISK10000 for their hard work. The rest of the week saw warmer weather, a haircut, a swim, a ladies lunch, I hosted a sewing club, and we went on an outing to a theatrical production paired with wine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, be warned that at the very bottom of the page are a couple of photos of a burst ganglion cyst… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was my turn to host a sewing club, and I decided to actually cook dinner for a change. I found a protein-rich recipe to slow-cook<\/a>… because proteins are everything these days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

I couldn’t find the exact spice blend the recipe asked for so this ended up going in.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

In retrospect, I should have browned the turkey bits before assembly. The whole thing tasted fine, and ended up fully cooked, but the outside texture of the turkey was a bit weird.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

This is sort of an FYI, if people are into those sorts of things. Basically, I rubbed my ganglion cyst the wrong way (I may have given it a very mild<\/strong> squeeze to lessen the pain), and the stretched skin suddenly ruptured…!! Turns out, the cyst is indeed just made up of clear gel!! I squeezed out as much as I could, and then went about cleaning it up. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Later that evening after a dinner with friends. Apparently, it’s not great when this happens, because it opens up a path deep into the body that germs can get into. But I got lucky, and it didn’t get infected. It also lessened the pressure a lot, which was appreciated.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
