<\/a>Good usage of a huge space. Kids from one class had hung a giant Sun complete with (I forgot to count how many) planet. Saturn's rings were made out of plastic straws. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>Kids plus instructor. I decided not to bring my flash for this event, and regretted it immediately!<\/p><\/div>\n
<\/a>There was some lovely singing...<\/p><\/div>\n
<\/a>Then it was time to present what they'd learnt about birds. Pairs of kids came up to the stage at a time, and read the slide text (that they had presumably dictated to the teacher) for each bird. Here it's Anna's turn to speak into the microphone. Some of the parents rolled their eyes jokingly after the event and were bemused that the kids were already being trained to give slide-show presentations.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>Anna played Goldilocks in "Goldilocks and the three bears". She only had three short lines, but acted out what the storytellers read into the microphone.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>We utterly failed to remember to bring anything, but it was ok because other parents did their duty.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/a>Today, the whole school went into full-on celebratory-mode. They had fun and games, and hot dogs, and ice-cream and an entertainer who sang songs about hitching up and wanting to bed someone. Very Icelandic. The kids knew all his lyrics and had a blast. Oh, they're such innocent little sheep!!<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
This past week has been Anna’s last week at school. \u00a0On Monday we’re supposed to show up to fetch her report-card, and then she’s off to at least a month of aftercare before we begin our month-long-ish summer vacation in July. \u00a0To celebrate the end of school, two big events were planned. \u00a0The first one was this past Tuesday morning, where all the parents of the kids in class gathered into the school-auditorium and saw the kids sing, give a power-point presentation (!!!) and act out three plays. \u00a0The second part was today (Friday) where the entire morning was fun and games, then some hot-dogs, then a small concert plus ice-cream.<\/p>\n
