{"id":3774,"date":"2011-05-22T23:25:03","date_gmt":"2011-05-22T23:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/?p=3774"},"modified":"2011-05-23T00:36:32","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T00:36:32","slug":"the-ominous-cloud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/the-ominous-cloud\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ominous Cloud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/05\/23\/world\/europe\/23volcano.html\">volcanic eruption<\/a> started around dinner time yesterday (21 May 2011 &#8211; aka <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2011_end_times_prediction\">The Rapture Day<\/a>) in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gr%C3%ADmsv%C3%B6tn\">Gr\u00edmsv\u00f6tn<\/a> which is the most active volcano in Iceland, located under the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vatnaj%C3%B6kull\">Vatnaj\u00f6kull<\/a> (Lake-Glacier?) far far away from Reykjavik. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t care very much until today, when all the airports got shut down, and then an ominous cloud started making its way west towards the city. \u00a0It became very\u00a0noticeable around dinner-time today, lurking in the weird near-distance (but yet far away) and all evening it&#8217;s been getting bigger and closer. \u00a0We expect there to be some sandish-residue sitting on our car tomorrow morning, which is fitting, because I WASHED IT yesterday!! \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3775\" style=\"width: 670px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_5427.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3775\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3775\" title=\"IMG_5427\" src=\"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_5427.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_5427.jpg 660w, https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_5427-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The ominous cloud visible when looking east.
