Our family trips almost write themselves these days… Next on the agenda was visiting an “adventure park” with obstacle courses through the trees. After much mulling we ended up going to the Korkee park<\/a> on the island of Mustikkamaa<\/a> (“Blueberry-land”).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All geared up for traversing the obstacle courses between the trees.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our trip there began with a subway-ride from Kamppi. It took a while to find the subway entrance, and once down on the platforms, we found some art in the ceilings!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

I wonder how accurate these are?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

Next we hopped on a bus, and then there was a short walk to where the tree-courses began.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

First time I’ve seen this setup, where the gear is clipped to a wire when you put it on. Usually it’s just draped haphazardly on the ground.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Going through the obligatory how-to practice-course. By now we’ve seen most every version of the one-line-always-attached system, but practice makes perfect.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

I stayed with Emma (or she with me?), while the other three went off ahead.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Enclosed spaces are a slight challenge for bigger people, but I made it through.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

This park was slightly unusual in how hard it was to get on and off some of the courses. This one sported a whole climbing=wall you had to get up before moving on.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

I made it up the wall, and it was easier than I thought!?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

This innocent-looking ladder was almost the death of me! I made it up but just barely, by hanging on for dear life, while slowly putting one foot up and then the other.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Afterwards we walked to where there was a cafe on the map, but it was closed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Instead, there was a sea-play-area, where we could thankfully buy ice-cream. We were tempted to go in the water, but didn’t have the gear for it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

We passed a cat-cafe on the way back to home-base, but every time we did, it was fully booked.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

The next morning we had tickets to sail to Tallinn<\/a> in Estonia<\/a>! I went to my trusty travel-slide-show (now obligatory for family trips) to review some travel details before going to bed. Zzzz!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
