[Photos taken 23 – 25 April 2022, posted online 18 September 2022. Two weeks left of my current job. Got two flat tires out in the country after a hike yesterday.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iceland had declared Covid-19 done and over with. Thus, in a fit of optimism mixed with blissful ignorance, I signed up for an e-biking group that would go on 1-2 rides per week for 9 weeks. It caused a bit of a scheduling mess, as in one week I was due to go on two hikes, and two e-bike rides… also known as couch-to-insanity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weekend before the first bike-outing set the tone with a lunch, a reunion, and a birthday-party! (25-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 23 April 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n

I managed to arrange a lunch with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while, and had a nice open sandwich.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n

A little later that day I attended a pre-party for my old class and our overdue junior college reunion! It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside for the most part.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

We then moved to the headquarters of one of the local banks\/investor\/money-something, where we met up with more of the people that graduated with us.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Proof I was there! I didn’t stay long though, dancing didn’t agree with my knee, and I decided to get out before I injured myself…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

A 9th grader going on his first full-week school-trip to Laugarvatn with his school-year.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Next up: Emma at the dental surgery place for a follow up. The dental group had a super nice waiting area, that I didn’t want to take a picture of since there were people sitting there. They had an impressive selection of children’s books.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

At 6 pm we all gathered for my first e-bike group-ride.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

I managed to rope one of my brothers into the group as well, as he e-bikes a lot!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

We biked for a hop and a skip and were suddenly in Hei\u00f0m\u00f6rk<\/a> nature reserve.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

One of our guides telling us about the lay of the land. There are a lot of paths in the area, among some of the oldest tree-growing you find around Reykjavik (from 1950-ish).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

We stopped by a random sign, marking Undanfari (Precursor) where the first trees were planted in 1949.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n
