[Photos taken 15 – 16 April 2022, posted on 21 August 2022. New little nephew named yesterday! In other news, I’ve resigned from my job (as seems to be fashionable), my last day will probably be in late October. No new job lined up, I’m open to suggestions!<\/em>] <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the fifth day in Copenhagen, we’d sort of finished doing what we’d planned to do, so were a little at a loss on what to do with ourselves. After looking over the available Copenhagen Card attractions<\/a>, we ended up walking to the big Torvehallerne<\/a> food hall to eat lunch, and then took the train (not the metro! just a little confusion!) to the Planetarium<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That evening we played it safe with dinner, packed most of our bags, and got ready to leave for Iceland in the morning. The trip home was uneventful, but I discovered I was pretty exhausted upon return. The schedule had perhaps been a rather packed one? (40-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was “Good Friday<\/a>” (I’ve never understood that name), we call it “Long Friday”. Denmark had their flags at half mast.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n

By the food halls & market. As tastes vary wildly in the family, we split up to hunt for food. There were a lot of people there!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Emma excited to dig into her sushi. Unfortunately we’d sat down in a spot reserved for another vendor, so we had to move.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

By the only empty “table” we found. The market is spread over 2-3 buildings, with some stuff out in the open. We all found something to eat, and then it was time to walk for a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

Bjarki vetoed going into some stuffy castle to look at stuffy stuff, so instead we swung by the palace gates on the way to the train station, and valiantly ignored the person with the rifle walking back and forth.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

After considerable confusion over what train Google maps was telling us to take (there’s a metro, a surface train, and a bus system) we found ourselves by the Planetarium.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

They show films on a ginormous screen, and we got tickets (included in our Copenhagen Card) for “Traveling in time” (aka “Tales of a Time Traveler<\/a>“). It wouldn’t start for a while though, so we had a fair amount of time to kill.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

We finally made our way up the stairs and into the auditorium. The screen was so ridiculously big that my wide-angle camera had no way of imaging all of it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

The other two. We got headsets connected to a gadget that had the audio in English, fittingly narrated by David Tennant<\/a>. First there was a 15 minute live talk\/presentation in Danish with a video which was also pretty nice. I understood a bit here and there.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n

The movie was pretty cool. Always fun to look at space stuff. Here we are heading back to the train station.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n
