[Photos taken 31 December 2021, posted online 07 May 2022. Went to see Trevor Noah last night in a packed auditorium. Been a while since I laughed so hard!<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all tested negative on PCR tests for Covid, so the New Year’s Eve party at Finnur’s parent’s place was ON! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, as the day wore on, I began feeling more and more poorly, and in the end I decided to stay home, reading a book in bed, only venturing out at shortly before midnight to join with the others for a few photos and some fireworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And thus endeth 2021, may it never come back! (30-ish images)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yay for a new year!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I began the day be celebrating my newly-minted Covid-free-status at a cafe.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
On the way back home I got stuck in a traffic jam by the fireworks-selling place (the main fundraiser for the local Search and Rescue teams).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Emma finished a jigsaw she got for Christmas while out in the country. Then they packed up and drove to town, with a negative covid test in tow.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
I’d begun feeling a bit poorly, so a speed-test seemed appropriate. Not covid!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>

The view from my bedroom window… yay, fireworks! It was a bit weird being all alone, but at least I had a book to occupy my time.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile at Finnur’s parents’ place, a party was in full swing. Anna was kind enough to take a few photos.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once the annual comedy hour was over at 11:30 pm, I drove up to Buddha, just to check out the view.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Shortly before midnight I arrived at Finnur’s parent’s place, and managed to celebrate the new year with the crew – at a reasonable distance!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
