[Photos taken 03-05 December 2021, posted online 03 April 2022. Spring rain outside, yesterday I cleared out the bonfire-sized heap of stuff that seems to collect in the garage every winter.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an attempt to “lock in” some of the golf-info we’d gotten during golf lesson #1, we booked another lesson two days later with our very patient teacher. Unfortunately for me, I’d probably injured something when I struck the ground two days prior, so hitting the ball became an exercise in ignoring a flaring pain in my right forearm. I’m stubborn like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later that day we ventured into a shopping mall, for a bit of last minute shopping. The morning after my shins had finally stopped threatening to split, so I ventured out with Hildur on a morning jog. Then we finished packing and took a taxi to the airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was clear that Tenerife authorities weren’t too concerned with infections among the departing population, as hand disinfectant was hard to find in the terminal, and the food and waiting areas were packed like sardines. Masks kept being required though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5 hour flight home was uneventful, but upon landing we had to get a PCR test (free), and then quarantine until the results came back. Finnur had therefore taken the kiddos to house #2, and Adda stayed overnight with me. Around 2 pm the following day we got the all-clear, and that was the formal end of our absolutely wonderful & glorious lady-trip to Tenerife! (70-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday 03 December 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our view every morning at breakfast. Every time a guest vacated a table, the serving staff put down a new table cloth.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This time we took a taxi to the golf course, and lounged around the golf clothing store while Adda dealt with paperwork. I was bemused by the perkiness of this particular carving.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hildur was the only one of us to make visible progress, as Adda’s POTS<\/a> was getting the better of her after a highly active week, and my injured forearm was killing me.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We hung out at the top balcony for a bit, and the clouds looked worse than they behaved.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We didn’t have a grand plan for dinner, just walked towards the same area as we’d eaten in the night before.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We found a restaurant that had decent reviews, and sat down. There was an entertainer there, who at one point gave the most hilariously awful rendition of “I just called to say I love you”. The video of Adda losing it in tears of laughter is available upon request.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Happily, the food was very good!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bizarrely, the restroom was inside a building next to the open-air restaurant, and I asked Adda to pose outside it because…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We meandered through a little shopping area on the way back, it was nice on the eyes.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 04 December 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hildur and myself were out and about at 8.40 am to get a little movement in before being stuck in a seat for five hours.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Our route, ended up being about 7 km. Hildur was super patient with me, because I go a lot slower than she would normally go.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The seaside is quite raw in places. There was a surprising number of people out and about.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was so freezing cold outside, we had to stop in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur to charge Hildur’s old Leaf a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As luck would have it, Adda’s daughter happened to be driving by and could hand us their charging key, as we were having trouble installing the app etc needed to charge without a key from that company.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Late dinner (11 pm) was oatmeal and scrambled eggs!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 05 April 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We crawled out of bed late, and lunch was more eggs and bread. By 2 pm we both had our negative-for-covid-19 results and were free to roam!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
