[Photos taken 29 – 30 November 2021, posted online 20 March 2022. Have just returned from a one-night date-stay at a hotel out in the wilderness. Had awful weather yesterday, but very pretty today. Oh well!<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our third day in Tenerife we mostly just lounged, and planned things to do. On the fourth day we procured bikes, and biked about. As (mixed) luck would have it, one of the bikes had a broken computer, so they bike-renters had to go get a new one, and due to the delay we got the bikes for an extra day for free! (30-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday 29 November 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Masks were required on the hotel premises, except when sunbathing, while in the swimming pool, and while sitting down at tables.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
11 am Cyber Monday browsing. Bought a thing or two I’d spotted earlier in the month.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
It was a relatively cloudy day, but we still hung out on the deck for a bit. I’d dug out my kindle, and found something to read.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Adda got this wrap during her 2020 trip. Was convenient for quick trips downstairs.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The hotel and the entire area took covid-precautions very seriously.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
That weird fishing pole turned out to be a swim harness. You put it on, start swimming and keep swimming until you stop swimming.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The jog the day before left me on the verge of shin splints, so I decided to visit the gym rather than go out on another jog. The hotel gym had ancient equipment but it worked-ish.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
I found another way up to our level, there was a sneaky stairwell and door at the far end of the building.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
We got a table at an Indian restaurant recommended by trip advisor.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
We ordered too much food!! But it was delishious!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
We spotted a cat on the walk back to the hotel. It sure looked like there was some sort of daycare in the basement.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 30 November 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The breakfast buffet featured a made-to-order egg-omelet station (see chef in the distance), and lots of variety on multiple food islands.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The weather was gorgeous.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Waiting for our rental bikes to arrive.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
People sitting outside, waiting for taxis or buses to take them to the airport.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As proof that the world is indeed very small, who would walk by than a good friend from Iceland!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The bike situation finally got worked out and we headed out. Adda and myself had e-bikes, but Hildur, who likes a challenge, rode a regular bike. None of them were of high-quality, but they did function! It turned out that Tenerife is quite hilly!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We found a bunch of restaurants sitting by a cove and picked one that ranked high.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Great views! We were by far the most under-dressed guests, but got served food and drinks, which was really the only important thing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Time to keep going! It was already past 4 pm at that point.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

If you squint, you can see Hildur at the top of the stairs. She’s been to Tenerife before, and this is a ritual of hers.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We decided it was time to bike back to the hotel. It’s weird seeing large stretches of grass when you know the rest of the area is essentially a desert.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dinner was a snack-ish affair on one of the balconies as we’d eaten a big meal so late in the day. That concluded day four!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
