November saw more home-improvements, trips to the gym and into nature, a vaccination booster, living room re-arrangements, some social outings, a moon-eclipse, and a sadly dysfunctional car. (45-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a doctor’s appointment, had a tiny cold, and decided it would be prudent to take (my first ever) speedy-test. Was negative, yay!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our living room has remained unchanged for about a decade, and our sofas are slowly but surely losing their will to live. I was shocked to find a comfortable sofa in one store, but I figured a light colored sofa is too big of a gamble with kids in the house.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Downloaded yet another gps game (now deleted) which had me out for a lunch walk (from the office!), where I discovered another path is being made through the pretty lava field.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When I arrived home I was surprised to find a radiator sitting outside.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Inside, some plumbers were hard at work replacing a few radiators that were close to rusting through.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
I was supposed to go out on a scheduled walk with my hiking group, but the weather forecast was for wind and rain, so I decided to take a hike up through the forest area in my own backyard, as the trees provide shelter from the wind.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Muggy.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Headlamps are nice!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Made it to the mountain-scope, and went back down the same way again to keep my wind-shelter.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As the sofas had been moved to make space for the plumbers, I used the opportunity to move things around. This arrangement lasted until January, when I tried watching the TV from the lounge-sofa and it was not good.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gym-time. Apparently sleeve-less tops are now fashionable, and I tried, but I don’t thing they’re for me!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We had a medical appointment, and on our way we walked past the huge big hole in the ground which is supposed to turn into a hospital building at some point. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I also began going to physical therapy as my shoulders locked up from alternating between the workstation at home and at work. Right next door, a huge month-long League of Legends internet gaming tournament<\/a> was going on. Those “posters” were the entry area.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We had dinner guests and I drove to multiple stores to try and find no-additives frozen turkey breasts. These were not it. Surprisingly I found them at B\u00f3nus, the cheap-o store.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki got a cold, and was hauled to the covid test site, as there was no going to school without an official result. He was negative.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The weather was warm-ish, so I decided to go out on a jog. Emma intercepted me, and walked with me up the hill, so that she could, finally, relay a story she heard when she was up there with her school many weeks prior.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anna was on school holiday, between quarters, and decided to make a few croissants from scratch. They were utterly delicious!!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anna cut her hair (like she does) and we laughed at how much she looked like old photos of me.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

International data indicated that covid-boosters were a good bet to guard against bad cases of covid, and I got assigned a time for mine. The location was in the hall where the League of legends tournament had just vacated.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Picking Anna up from staying over with some friends… like actually socializing! There’s been very little of such luxury these past couple of years.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My immune system went all out getting rid of the newly made invaders, and I was in and out of bed that day.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Feeling pretty certain that if that was my reaction to the non-self-multiplying virus-bits that I really didn’t want to be unprotected from the real multiplying-virus itself. The next day I woke up feeling rather beat up, but was fine by the end of the day.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I had a hankering for some actual coffee that morning, so I drove to one of the nearby cafes. On my way I noticed the Moon looking a bit weird, and remembered that there was a moon-clipse going on!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Cursing only having a crappy phone camera with me, but it tried!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
In other news, our 2015 eGolf threw up this error, and got hauled to the dealer for repairs. It turned out the big battery was having issues, but thankfully it was still covered by warranty. As this is written, THREE MONTHS LATER, the car is still in the shop. It took 5-6 weeks to get a new control unit, and lid for the battery. When that arrived in late December, the shop discovered that the lid didn’t fit the old bottom of the battery well enough to get a seal (some corrosion or pitting), and we had to wait another month for the bottom to arrive (by ship, it’s so large). Once the shop had spent 40 hours transferring the batteries themselves from one bottom to the next, it turned out some other control unit was not operating correctly, and last I heard we’re waiting on this second unit… <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
