As May began, Anna got on our case to expand the space for her veggie garden. The weather cooperated and spring-time jobs were the name of the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather kept being cold, gorgeous, and very very dry. So dry that a big bush-fire erupted close to our house! (30-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 01 May 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Finnur cleaning the windows and the lower gutters while I hacked at the shrub that was in very bad shape after all spring-time cold.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Always handsome while window cleaning.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Weeding completed in that corner. Only miles go to.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 02 May 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

That very localized “rain-cloud” in the distance is the volcano!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur continuing to make our windows see-through again.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Moving the veggie boxes we had to make room for two more.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Growth happening!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 03 May 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After work, I found myself by Ikea as they offer free compost.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 04 May 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gorgeous days are gorgeous.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Soaking up a little bit of sun. Think it was darn cold still.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The lack of rain caught up with us, as a forested area caught fire a hop and a skip away from where we live. Thankfully the smoke got blown towards the mountains.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Walking along the river while Bjarki had his guitar lesson. First time that I ever saw a fisherman there.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The smoke trail.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mount Esja in the distance in the other direction.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The chopper carrying water towards the fire. It transpired that there was only one chopper-bucket to be found in Iceland, and it was ruined after that day. The authorities scrambled to order more, as draughts seem to be getting more and more common. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

ER doc: “They are obviously suffering from experience-addiction. Apparently haven’t made it to the volcano in over a week, and are overwhelmed with a feeling of emptiness as they’ve not gotten to experience being vaccinated in the big hall.”<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
