We went to check on house #2, enjoyed some good weather and northern lights, and then the main thing became planning and preparing Bjarki’s upcoming confirmation party on 21 March. Not surprisingly, due to all the preceding earthquakes, the ground opened up on 19 March, and a volcanic eruption began<\/a>, which is still ongoing. (30-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday 15 March 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I discovered there’s a clothing alterations company in our local mall!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki and I went there to get his trousers taken in, and we stopped by in this lovely mini-cafe on our way out. Sadly, their hot chocolate is the swiss miss kind. Ugh.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A post on social media reminded me that this day marked 20 years from the passing of Clare<\/a>. I went searching for photos of her and dad, and found to my surprise that Clare was really good at evading my camera. Dad will just have to put up with this one of him probably wondering what was taking me so long?!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Friday 19 March 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Getting a hair-cut in-between organizing last-minute catering for the confirmation party that Sunday. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Bjarki’s hair also got a touch-up.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Music-theory walk to shake off the party nerves.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

That evening, a volcanic eruption started a hop and a skip away from the capital area, sort of midway between us and the international airport.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anna and myself went hunting for fancy clothing. Sadly, I couldn’t find anything for myself, but Anna got a fantastic outfit. The biggest drama became trying to get out of the parking garage as the payment system had recently changed, and as we didn’t see\/manage to read those mangled pieces of paper on the non-driver side when we entered, we’d ended up using the wrong app to pay for the parking. We weren’t the only ones in trouble that day, but thankfully the lady at the end of that phone number was kind enough to open the gate.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
