[Photos taken 24 – 28 February 2021, posted online 26 June 2021. As of today, Icelandic authorities have revoked all domestic Covid-19 restrictions, but border restrictions remain in place. The reason is high vaccination rates, with about 80% of 16+ year-olds having at least begun vaccinations, and 50% being fully vaccinated.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After our fun ski trip<\/a>, it was mostly back to life as normal, except for hosting Emma’s birthday party #2, going out to dinner, aaaand a sudden rise in earthquake activity close by (that would culminate in an actual volcanic eruption<\/a> a month later!). (25-ish images)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather was extra-gorgeous for the weekly outing during Emma’s piano lesson.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Muddy. I’m sure this path gets wider every year as people avoid the mud.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This caught my eye, as we used to visit Fry’s quite a bit back when we lived in CA. I was especially fond of the Fry’s with the sinc-function<\/a> on the front of the building<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In other news, yet another earthquake swarm started up, with lots of 5+ quakes (which was new), somewhat unnervingly close to the capital area. It would keep going for weeks, culminating in an actual volcanic eruption on 19 March 2021<\/a>!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We were slightly surprised when an airplane appeared in front of one of the houses behind ours. It didn’t stay long though. \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
