[Photos taken 01 – 05 August 2020, posted online 31 January 2021. It’s been a snowless cold month on our side of the country, the other side is drowning in snow. Very few Covid-19 cases found these past few days.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We visited house #2 with Adda and Halli and spent a few calms days there. Right about that time, Covid-19 wave #2 began, which meant we mostly stayed put to avoid crowds, which was restful in and of itself (80-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 01 August 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Moving back in time a bit, I found a flower under siege in our backyard.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Also in our backyard was a shrub that I’ll need to remember to cut down a lot in February as it never quite recovered after the winter. Facebook was full of images like these, so ours wasn’t the only one.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Finnur and Emma left before the rest of us, as we needed to visit the library etc. Finally, around 4 pm, the trunk of the blue car was loaded…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
… Anna’s learner decal was put in place…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
… and we drove straight to a cafe to eat before setting off for real. This was a few days after the 2-meter rule was re-instated, so every other table was closed down.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 02 August 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The kids played Quirkle<\/a>, except we never count points, just enjoy laying down tiles. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
So pretty!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The trampoline was tuned into an outside bed. The weather was mild, but not particularly warm.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The boys played Small World<\/a> for a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The big project of the day was assembling fly nets that Finnur had procured.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 03 August 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After too much sitting around and doing nothing, I decided to go out for a jog. I started out with a fly-net, but quickly realized that there were hardly any flies around, so it got packed away pretty quickly.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Lake view. There was no wind.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Mountain view.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Where there are mountains, there are rivers.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The birch trees are self-sown, but those evergreens were planted.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Along the road I went. That lake is very, very long, so I just ran a certain distance along it, and then turned back.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We stopped by at a store in Borgarnes, and the carrot selection was so sad that I had to take a photo.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On our way to visit Halli’s parent’s in their summer house one fjord over.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma managed to whine out one more Quickle game before bedtime. This was at 9:50 pm, ahemm… <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 04 August 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On this day I attacked the garage which was in total disarray, and then hauled a bunch of stuff to the recycling center in Borgarnes. I was surprised to see a whole car in one of the dumpsters!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>

I stopped by at our favorite cafe, needing a bit of solo time, and managed to blog a bit. The cafe was super busy, the owner told me the summer had been the busiest ever. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On my return, I finished tidying up, and I could finally enter the garage without grinding my teeth.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday 05 August 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anna woke up with wavy hair!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was time to pack up and head back to civilization.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Around dinner we went and picked Spori the puppy up, as we would be dog-sitting him for a few days, while mom caught her breath as she was exhausted by his hyper-activity.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At home, Emma was thrilled to also have wavy hair.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
