Finnur began going out for keep-in-shape runs when his old-boys football practices got shut down. I mostly did home-exercises and walks, but one day I decided to see if I actually could do a bit of jogging… and it turns out I did! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My history with jogging has been littered with injury. It was only in my “old age” that I started actually enjoying going outside for a jog with a good podcast, but since then there’s been plantar fasciitis<\/a>, ankle breakage, shin splints<\/a>, Achilles tendinitis<\/a>, and iffy hips. Physical therapy has helped with some of that, but lifting weights has strengthened the whole system, and so… jogging is again a possibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also finally finished making veggie growing boxes for Anna, but the plants went in a bit late, so the fall harvest was not super. Anna also spent a a lot of time with Spori the puppy, as her summer job only began on 9 June. (60-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna was given the task of repotting the self-sown birch trees I rescued last summer, as their prospective owners were about to come and pick them up.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 02 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Feeling incredibly cocky after not dying the day before, I decided to go for a “run” while Emma’s was at football practice. I barely made it back in time for when she was done, thankfully she took her sweet time exiting the building (no parents allowed inside).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>

Big news! Self-serve oatmeal was again on offer for breakfast in the Marel cafeteria!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The lawn got mowed after dinner. This is at 10 in the evening.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Friday 05 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This was the last day of school, and Emma came home with a book she’d made.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Apparently the women in the family are triangles, and the men are ovals. \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
My group at work went to the racing arcade for the second time.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
They’d upgraded to large concave screens since the last time we were there.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
We ended up at a restaurant adjacent to a hotel downtown, and the restrooms were in the hotel. I’ve never seen a store display their wares in a hotel lounge before.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
One of these recommendations is not like the others.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 06 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Checking up on Spori the puppy.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur got to watch Emma run through some gymnastics tricks she’d been working on.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Later that day, I eloped to our summer house with some girl-friends to spend the night.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 07 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
In the morning, we went on a short walk around the neighborhood.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Breakfast!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The girls then took off, and I started on chores such as mowing the lawn.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
By early afternoon the grass was mowed, and I side-eyed the walking path which was getting a bit too weedy, even for me.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
One last task before takeoff was measuring the hot tub, since we needed a new lid for it.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
I decided to make a quick body refueling stop in Borgarnes, the town of gorgeous views.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>

Monday 08 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in months, a 1. grade classroom birthday was held. It had been so long there were 9 birthday kids!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Emma learning to work a locker at the Rush trampoline park.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Yet again, my little eGolf proved to be just perfect, as my brother needed a ride for a new tv. They had just closed on an apartment!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 09 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
Emma posing in front of the roadwork crew that would be resurfacing the road up the hill. I was showing her the way to walk home from her all-day gymnastics camp, that had just started up.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

By 6pm I was out jogging again, as Finnur kindly dropped me off by lake V\u00edfilssta\u00f0avatn<\/a>. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The path was pretty busy, so busy that I mostly avoided it in the following months.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 11 June 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After months of waiting, the repairs on the big pool at Salalaug were finally finished, and this was the water level at 08:40 as I dropped Emma off for her camp.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>
The water level at 16:10 when I came to pick Emma up.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a>

Super exciting I know, but the pool was ready but still fenced off at 9 am the next day. Soooo close!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The (bi)annual search for the lost items of clothing after school was closed for the summer.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Taking advantage of the lull in Covid infections, us siblings took mom out for lunch. She led us on a story trip around the old-old town.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When we got back, Anna was outside with Spori. He loved chasing the ball, but never brought it back to the kicker.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
