For the first time since March, we made plans to meet other adults! Our friends Ragnar & Agnes came up to house #2, which was sort of a neutral ground, virus wise, as we hadn’t gone there since February. We topped the weekend off by attending a birthday PARTY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other than that, life just sort of muddled onwards with the usual spring-tasks, and weather that oscillated between muggy and bright. (45-ish images)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday 08 May 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anna and Bjarki eating dinner on our way out of town. Finnur and Emma had already gone ahead to house #2 earlier in the day, but we’d lingered in town to pick up library books etc.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The trip didn’t start out very well, as the car flashed a low-tire-pressure alarm. When I went to fill up the tire, I found this lovely screw sticking out of it. What to do at 7 pm on a Friday?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Thankfully, the attendant at the gas station directed me to call the road assistance guy, who came by some 20 minutes later, and plugged up the hole. It was impressive!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

By 8 pm we were on our way!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Saturday 09 May 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The first task of the day was resurrecting the trampoline.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anna, my main helper, being silly.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Setting up the safety net takes the longest by far.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Guests!! OTHER ADULTS!!! Oh, my eyes!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

They brought home-made goods, yum!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was a good day for hot-tubbing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We paddled and paddled. At some point we decided to turn back, and my jaw dropped slightly at the view. The photo doesn’t do it justice, it was gorgeous!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 10 May 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our friends had to leave relatively early. After they left I got a few spring-tasks done, such as trimming the shrubbery.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I also began weeding the walkway, which had been allowed to go natural for a while.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Later that afternoon, we then attended the first BIRTHDAY PARTY in many many weeks. The party was held in multiple parts so that non-related people weren’t mingling too much.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 11 May 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It was a muggy day…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
… made even more muggy by the fact that half a volcano was sitting on the outside of the windows, blocking the view.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The magnetic window-cleaning gadget came in handy, yet another year.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

That day I participated as a panelist in a 3xlive event for my company. The only mike I had was this old one, that no longer had any legs.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anna used Emma to practice make-up skills on.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Thursday 14 May 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although the authorities lifted restrictions, my workplace wasn’t in a hurry to ask people to come into the office, so I kept visiting cafes for a small change of scenery.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Proof it was me.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
While at the cafe, Adda contacted me to offer a bread offering, as Halli had fallen head-first into sour-dough bread-making, and they had too much. Yay for us!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma turned herself into a cat with no help from anybody!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

On a walk I noticed a food truck festival by our local swimming pool. Food trucks became all the rage during covid.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I kept clearing the outside of the lot of weeds. Finnur put down a weed-cloth a few years back, which makes this task easier than it was in the past.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
