We woke up one April morning to the results of a massive overnight snowfall. It turned out it was perfect snow-people making material. (40-ish images)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday 05 April 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Emma by the big snow-person we made.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This was the view out the stairway window when we woke up that morning. Needless to say, there had not been any icicles the day before.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There was enough wind to blow snow under the foyer-roof.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I hung out at a cafe for a bit. As time and covid restrictions went on, the owner of this cafe began to discourage people working on computers, so I’m currently not going there.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Oh, April.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At home, Anna working on a baking project.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma wanted to play doubles.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The nice camera was within reach.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I saw from the weather forecast that the snow would almost all be gone the next day, but to have something to do, Emma and I scraped the snow off of the parking lot.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma is an excellent worker!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
All done! Now what?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It turned out the snow was the perfect moisture for making huge balls of snow.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Snow-person assembled! Happily we had a carrot in the fridge, but where to find small stones for eyes?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Trying to find small stones in the snow was not going well.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Happily we found snow-free stones under the small ‘bench’ part of one of the windbreakers.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Putting the last of the hair (or was it a crown?) in place.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
I decided that was enough snow-building for me, but Emma wanted to make more snow-people, so she stayed out for a while longer.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was hard to put eyes onto such small heads without them falling to pieces.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I tried offering her a hat, but it was ‘too warm’.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Anna’s cinnamon buns came out of the oven.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Getting a cinnamon bun, and hot chocolate cup delivered through the window.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The food gave her energy to make one more small snow-person.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When we gave her the news that unfortunately the weather was not looking good for snow-people existing the next day, there was much sadness. Bjarki stepped in to help and suggested we take photos of all the snow-people to remember them better.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

To save parts of the snow-people, the kids went outside and collected the stones, so Emma could make a memorial.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 06 April 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By 4 pm the next day, this was all that was left of the snow-people from the day before! To save the last shreds of my sanity, I used my last remaining vacation days that week, for a total of 10 delicious vacation days, as the Easter weekend is 5-days long. All schools were on Easter-break as well.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I ventured to a cafe in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur town that afternoon. I noticed a couple of small sailboats in the harbor, maybe they were covid-travelers?<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
