[Photos taken 04 – 06 August 2019, posted online 25 March 2020. Gatherings of more than 20 people per space are forbidden, and Emma is the only one actively going to school, the others are doing school work from home.<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in innocent times, we spent a long weekend at Finnur’s parents’ summer cottage by Laugarvatn. I will admit that it was a bit of a relief to not be hostess-of-the-house for a bit, just a guest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a lovely time in lovely weather. Finnur kept busy helping his dad tear a part of the deck down, while I took the kids hiking, and practiced general chilling. (65-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier that day, the deck-tear-down crew kept busy.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finnur’s sister and a part of her family was staying at the other cottage, and since they were preparing for a big hiking trip, they decided to hike up the mountain overlooking Laugarvatn. The kids and I tagged along.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The city kids weren’t thrilled to be dragged out and made to walk up a hill, so quite a bit of coaxing was needed, but they kept walking.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pit-stop up in the hillside. At this point some of our fellow hikers decided to turn around (walking with a kid in back-pack was starting to feel unsafe) and took Emma with them. I went up a bit higher with Anna and Bjarki.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

After lunch we began packing up for the trip back home.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Still working hard, now with a helper.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

They’d made a lot of progress! With that we drove back to town, as life as usual was about to resume, with Emma going to gymnastics camp the following day.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
