{"id":2497,"date":"2010-07-16T22:53:02","date_gmt":"2010-07-16T22:53:02","guid":{"rendered":"\/blog\/?p=2497"},"modified":"2010-07-17T01:15:23","modified_gmt":"2010-07-17T01:15:23","slug":"sn%c3%a6fellsnes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrefna.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/sn%c3%a6fellsnes\/","title":{"rendered":"Sn\u00e6fellsnes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Late Tuesday night we decided to tag along the next day with Adda and Halli to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snaefellsnes.is\/ensk_main.html\">Sn\u00e6fellsnes<\/a>, a peninsula north of the capital area. \u00a0Finnur&#8217;s parents happen to have a small house in one of the towns there, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C3%93lafsv%C3%ADk\">\u00d3lafsv\u00edk<\/a>, which turned out to be available for a couple of nights. \u00a0We drove there on Wednesday afternoon (total driving time about 2.5 hours, plus 30 minutes of stopping to shop) and were delighted to find that the weather was gorgeous. \u00a0And no, we hadn&#8217;t checked the weather beforehand &#8211; that&#8217;s how un-Icelandic we&#8217;ve become.<\/p>\n<p>We took it easy on Wednesday, but on Thursday we drove to a nearby town, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grundarfj%C3%B6r%C3%B0ur\">Grundarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/a>, to go swimming in an outdoor pool (\u00d3lafsv\u00edk&#8217;s swimming pool is indoors). \u00a0For those &#8216;not in the know&#8217;
