We took advantage of the amazing weather to work in the garden (me) and stain the woodwork of house #2 (Finnur). As it happens, Anna had to work at the horse-camp and there is no staining decks with kids around, so it worked out quite nicely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enjoy the last remaining weekend on vacation, we then drove to Finnur’s parents’ summer house at Laugarvatn for the long trade-holiday weekend. (30-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 01 August 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Finnur stained away up at house #2. That side of the house faces south, so the sun scorches it much more than the other sides.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Friday 02 August 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For Anna’s last day at horse camp, she baked a humongous layer-cake for everybody!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yay, she got to ride one of the horses for a bit!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, I finally worked up the nerve to tackle the weeds along the hedge. Sometimes the city work-school kids come and weed this side, but not this year.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I hope this yellow stuff isn’t bad for humans…<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki was in dire need of a haircut, so I took him to be sheared.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This kid’s growing up!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anna sent me a video of the horse carriages driving away with all the horses, who were finally about to go on a well deserved holiday.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My foot had finally recovered enough after the epic toe-bruising earlier in July for me to go to the gym for a bit.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Finnur was using wood-staining as a workout-method.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 03 August 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Saturday visit to one of the local cafes, for a little meeee-time.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
People moving into the apartment blocks that have risen in the neighborhood adjacent to ours. It’s good to see it coming to life.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Then it was back to weeding. I managed to get Anna to quickly remove all the flowering weeds in the upper area. Containment, you see!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\"\"

By four pm we were all packed, and made a quick pit-stop before heading all the way to Laugarvatn, to spend the rest of the long weekend with Finnur’s parents.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
