[Photos from 18 – 22 July 2019, posted online 07 March 2020. I took the kids skiing yesterday!!!!<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The days passed relatively uneventfully during our stay-cation. We hung out in town as Anna kept working, and the other two each spent half a day at horse camp, and stocked up on things needed for house #2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Anna finally had a week off, we drove to house #2, and hung out there with friends, managing to finally get the guest house into a usable state!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and there was also a cat-story! (45-ish images total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 18 July 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This photo belongs to a somewhat long story. Notice the cat Anna is stroking? Well, Bjarki called home after dinner asking for instructions on how to hold a cat that looked like it needed help getting home. He’d called the owners, found out they lived across the new big road, connected to that area via a walking bridge, and that the cat hadn’t returned home for a few days. The owners were mighty surprised that the cat was that far away, and asked Bjarki to try and get it home. But the cat wasn’t in the mood to be held. So I recruited Anna to drive up to the church with me to help out, which is when I discovered it was the same cat I’d walked past on 03 July 2019 (see photo!<\/a>), so it most likely wasn’t lost at all! But, then the owners called again, and let us know they were coming to fetch the cat, so Anna took it upon herself to keep kitty happy for a bit. And thus this image was born.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, I spent a sizable portion of the day at Ikea, trying to figure out what was still needed for house #2. Sadly, none of the night-stands were what I was looking for.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I still ended up buying a bunch of stuff. Such is life!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Friday 19 July 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Yet another lunchtime child-switch-a-roo trip to horse-camp.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 20 July 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It was time for another trip to house #2, this time with a mattress to finish the guest house. This time we’d be staying the better part of a whole week, as Anna had a week “off”, with two sets of guest planned to join us (sequentially).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Up at house #2, the best solution to affix the midget nets to the windows had been determined: White duct tape!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Happily, it turned out the visiting lady engineer loves assembling Ikea furniture as much as I do. #adultlego<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Once the bed was ready, we moved on to the chest of drawers.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We took a trip to Borgarnes, I’m pretty sure we went swimming. Of course, we ended up at the “usual” cafe afterwards, as blood sugar was running low.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 22 July 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Happy after a game well played (we don’t count the points, just enjoy finding good spots to put tiles).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Before visitors #1 took off to their next destination, we drove a hop and a skip to Hvanneyri<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our sillies by the cafe on the left. The poor person manning the cafe almost had to close the cafe once we were done, as our 2×5-person-families basically cleared out the remainder of what was there to eat!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

To ease the sugar-high after eating at the cafe I walked to those white houses in the image above. This is on the way back. So luscious! <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We said our goodbyes, then our visitors drove to their next destination, and we returned to house #2, and received the next set of visitors! As the kids were feeling antsy, I ended up taking them on a walk down to the lake in the evening.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
