Emma finally truly graduated from daycare, as it shut down for its summer vacation. We were rather stuck-in-town though for the work-week because Anna kept working at horse-camp. Happily we finally managed to celebrate Bjarki’s 12th birthday, and even go out on a date night! (25-ish images)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier that day Emma said her final goodbyes to her wonderful daycare\/playschool teachers (well, until they showed up at her new school in the fall with the next incoming class of students).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It looks like I made it to the gym in the early afternoon, now that I was formally on summer vacation!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Later on I met up with this old friend from Stanford between events in her packed schedule, as Netflix hosted their annual meeting in Iceland. And yes, she’s now the director of video algorithms at Netflix<\/a>!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Some 900 Netflix employees were rumored to be in Iceland that weekend<\/a>, so nothing less than one of the art museums, with additional tents was enough for such a big crowd!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thursday 11 July 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We finally got around to celebrating Bjarki’s 12th birthday properly. Anna was master-cake-baker, and I master-buy-rolls-at-bakery.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Happily, the weather was nice enough to sit outside \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Finnur during a bbq-pick-up. We had hot dogs and hamburgers. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Yeah, baby! Turns out I quite enjoy BBQ-ing \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Self-service kitchen.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Friday 12 July 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The end of the day found me driving around to find Emma to get her to go home for dinner. I finally spotted her!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When mom spoils the fun by announcing it’s dinner time, there is no way one agrees to sit in her car to go home!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Actually, it was just dinner time for the kiddos, as Finnur and myself had a date night in downtown Reykjavik.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Vertical food is the best food.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
