We took a trip to house #2 with friends to finally erect the trampoline we bought last year, and have a generally nice time. The rest of the week was apparently spent walking! (40-ish photos)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 11 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After Bjarki’s guitar recital that day, we drove up to house #2 with some friends, with the explicit goal to finally assemble the trampoline. We were successful!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Back-tracking a little bit, the job began by clearing the platform that had previously housed a small dollhouse, that unfortunately got eaten by mold, and was thus demolished.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Time to fasten the legs! This trampoline turned out to be screwed together, which means that this frame will forever be left standing, as there’s no way we’re taking it apart every year!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A little bit of peace and quiet.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I took my new electric tree-trimmer and gave these a quick trim. Yes, a bit late as they’d already begun greening…. oops.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Another random project was removing a plastic bucket that had been the pool for a small peeing-boy-fountain. Poor Bjarki had accidentally stepped into the not-quite-frozen pool that winter, so it had to go.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the town of Borgarnes, walking to our regular cafe, post-swimming.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Monday 13 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bjarki’s class hosted a fun-show for parents and two other classes. He and two of his friends made a video: “The cooking school for independent children.” It was hilarious!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday 14 May 2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This was the day Anna went on a hike with her school up a mountain, while feeling unwell.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
She ended up splitting up from her group to head back down, by herself. We kept close tabs on her via snapchat videos.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The group descended soon thereafter, and she rejoined them on more hiking. It was tough, but she survived. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Driving back to school. That’s where I work!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yet another daycare Q&A! (“Leiksk\u00f3li” literally translates to Playschool) Q: What is playschool for? A: To teach kids something before they go to school. Q: How do you feel in playschool? A: Fine. Q: What do you learn in playschool? A: The letters and being good. Q: What is your favorite thing to do in playschool? A: Babysitting the small children outside. Q: If you were in charge, what would you have the kids do? A: Play. Q: What do you want to be when you grow up? A: Flight attendant, teaching horses, fire fighter. Q: Is it more fun being a kid or an adult? A: Kid. Q: Why? A: I don’t know.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
